Terrie Nelson...
...owner and manager of The Office Lady, has over 30 years of experience in the fields of secretary, legal secretary, office manager, and administrative assistant. She trained in Denver, Colorado, at a private secretarial school and spent the next few years gaining on-the-job experience for first a construction bid depository and later for a life insurance company.
After returning to school to earn her Legal Secretary certificate, she worked for several years as secretary and later office manager to an attorney in Lincoln, Nebraska. At the same time, she began learning about computers, and performed secretarial and bookkeeping tasks for students, small businesses, and for the Lincoln Tourism Council.
Terrie then worked for the Lincoln Police Department, splitting her time between the records department and the communications department, earning two Captain's Commendations for service in typing suspect interviews verbatim as they happened. She started her own successful secretarial service, again in Lincoln, and operated that business for several years before moving with her father and grandmother to California.
In California, Terrie returned to school, earning a degree in business administration, and went to work for a large roofing company as Administrative Assistant to the President and Vice-President.
A few years later, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area of northern California and went to work for a large communication company in their sales training division. Her title was Project Administrator and Office Manager. It was at this time that she also opened her part-time home office as The Office Lady.
Terrie moved to the Grays Harbor area of Washington state in 2004, and has continued to operate her home office as a Virtual Assistant.
Terrie's skills cover a wide variety of office tasks, including, but certainly not limited to, typing/word processing, spreadsheet design/maintenance, creating Power Point presentations, designing and writing procedural manuals, Internet research, transcription from tapes, CDs and video, travel arrangements and many other tasks.
She continually seeks to maintain and upgrade her skills in order to keep pace with today's electronic world, taking classes, attending seminars, and participating in online training at various intervals.
In short, Terrie has a wealth of skills and experience, and you can rest assured that you will receive full value for your money.
